Marshall County Corn & Soybean Growers  Scholarship
Applicant Qualifications:
  • Eligible students are enrolled in Marshall County schools or their parents are ag producers in Marshall County.
  • Applicant must be from a family who is active in agriculture.
  • Applicant must be a senior high school student.
  • Applicant must be pursuing an education in ag business/production/engineering/education, or another ag-related field of study.
Scholarship Description:
  • Amount awarded: Three $500 scholarships

Dahl/Scott Education Endowment Fund Scholarship
Scholarship criteria:
  • Scholarship to be awarded to one or more MCC seniors, based upon exceptional performance in math and/or science and who express intent to continue a course of study at a college/university in math, engineering, or science.
  • Max. Award: up to $10,000, renewable

Margot Dahl Scholarship
Margot Dahl taught high school English and Spanish at Marshall County Central for sixteen years. She was a teacher who strived to help students achieve excellence in all aspects of their lives. Academic excellence was very important to her, but she also believed that students should become active in their school and community. She hoped that students would participate in service activities and hold leadership roles.

Scholarship Criteria:
  • Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • This scholarship is not based on financial need. It is based on academic achievements, community and service involvement, and leadership.

Procedure:
Eligible students must submit a typed essay that includes the following:
1.      Write about one high school accomplishment in academics and explain the importance to you.
2.      Write about one participation in service and community activity and explain the impact it had on you.
3.      Write about one leadership position in school or community service activity and explain how the skills you learned can be used in the
         future.

Newfolden Lions Club Scholarship
Scholarship criteria:
  • One scholarship will be awarded to a MCC senior who will be attending a technical/two year college
  • One scholarship will be awarded to a MCC senior who will be attending a four year college/university
  • Applicants will write a brief essay on their community service involvement and citizenship qualities

Norman and Bernice Ueland Memorial Scholarship
The Norman & Bernice Ueland Memorial Scholarship committee will present one $500 scholarship to be awarded to a senior attending Marshall County Central High School. This scholarship will be disbursed in the recipient’s second semester of college (upon successful completion of first semester classes as verified through a college transcript).
While class rank and GPA will be considered when evaluating applicants, preference will be given to students who are (any of the following):
  1. Involved with 4-H
  2. First generation college students
  3. Interested in pursuing teacher education (students majoring in other areas are encouraged to apply)
  4. Leaders in the school/community
  5. Involved in extra-curricular activities

Pay it Forward Scholarship Middle River
Scholarship criteria:
  • Must be a MCC graduate who will be attending a post-secondary school
  • Summarize your extra-curricular participation in high school
  • Detail your community activities, volunteer service and special interests
  • Defend your selection as a finalist for this scholarship
  • Write a one-page essay describing how you have been impacted by the ‘pay it forward’ movement. This could include an experience where someone did something kind for you or how you have paid it forward in your own life. Title this ‘Pay it Forward Essay’ with your name listed below the title.

Red Lake Electric Cooperative Scholarship
Scholarship Criteria:
  • Must be a dependent of a Red Lake Electric Cooperative member
  • Must be planning to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution (technical college, four year college or university)
  • The $500 scholarship will be awarded after the recipient successfully completes one semester of college and shows proof of being enrolled in an upcoming semester

Zachary and Connor Kvalvog Basketball Scholarship
Criteria:
  • Student must have participated in basketball as a player
  • Student must be honest, reliable and hard-working
  • The scholarship will be awarded after successful completion of a student’s first semester at college

Please attach a one-page essay to this application detailing your academic achievements and extra-curricular activities.  Also discuss your career plans and how this scholarship would benefit you.

Middle River Sportsmen's Club Scholarship
Scholarship Criteria 
  • The Middle River Sportsmen's Club will be awarding scholarships based on the amount of funds available and the number of applicants who apply
  • Applicants must fill out a form and answer questions regarding future plans, awards/honors they have received, and involvement in extra-curricular activities and community service
  • High School transcript must be sent with the application
  • The Scholarship will be available the SECOND SEMESTER of a student's SECOND YEAR of post-secondary training

PEO Scholarship
A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a FEMALE who is graduating high school in the spring of 2026 and is pursuing higher education.

Scholarship Criteria:
  • Attach a general information sheet about yourself, including your academic standing and activities
  • Respond to the questions on the cover sheet using a total of 200 words or less

Scholarship criteria:
  • Students must be a graduating senior of MCC High School
  • Student must be enrolling full-time in a 2 or 4 year school of higher learning (college, vocational)
  • Student must have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or better
  • Students must have demonstrated involvement in extra-curricular or community activities
  • Employees or children of employees of Border Bank are not eligible
  • Grandchildren of employees and board members of Border Bank are eligible

Scholarship Information 
  • $150 scholarship
  • Must be a senior in high school

Mark Peterson Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship Criteria 
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Preference given to someone entering an Animal Science field of study
  • An essay, one letter of recommendation from a teacher, and a high school transcript must be submitted with the application
  • The scholarship will be available the SECOND SEMESTER of a student's FIRST YEAR of post-secondary training

Middle River Community Club Senior Scholarship
Scholarship Criteria 
  • The Middle River Community Club is offering a $500.00 scholarship to a graduate or $250 to two graduates
  • Applicant's family must have been members of the Middle River Community Club in 2025 (a year prior to the 2026 application)
  • Applicants must be a graduating senior of the class of 2026 and have been accepted to a college 
  • Applicants will be judged on their involvement in: the Middle River community, church/youth organizations, extra curricular activities at school, and with family.
  • The scholarship will be available the SECOND SEMESTER of a student's FIRST YEAR of post-secondary training

Scholarship Criteria 
  • The Middle River Community Theatre is offering a $200.00 scholarship to a graduate in the area who has participated in a Middle River Community Theatre production.

  • The scholarship will be available the SECOND SEMESTER of a student's FIRST YEAR of post-secondary training

Middle River Cooperative Oil Association/Five Star Scholarship
The Cooperative Oil Association is offering up to 5 ($250) scholarships to a graduating senior.

Scholarship Criteria:
  • Graduating Senior
  • Attending post secondary education (e.g. a vocational technical school or a two year or four year college/university)
  • Applicant's parents must be patrons of Cooperative Oil/Five Star
  • Scholarships will be awarded by Cooperative Oil in the second semester of the second year of enrollment at a post-secondary school

Varies. Most are due April 15, 2026 
Northwest MN Foundation offers an assortment of scholarships with varying due dates.  Students will need to create an account (using a non-school related email address) and then take an eligibility quiz.  After taking the quiz, they will be provided with a list of scholarships they can apply for.  Most of the scholarships require 2 reference letters.

P.K.M. Electric Cooperative Trust Scholarship
Scholarship Criteria:
  • This scholarship is open to individuals in the service area of P.K.M. Electric Cooperative who are members of this cooperative or who are the spouse or children of members
  • Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution (technical college, four year college or university)
  • Applications for this $1,000 scholarship can be picked up in the Counseling Office
  • Applicants must include two letters of recommendation, a signed high school transcript with ACT scores, and a personal resume with their application
  • Completed applications must be returned to P.K.M Electric no later than April TBD, 2026

Sanford Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship
Scholarship criteria:
  • A $500 scholarship is available with a potential for an additional $500 in a student's second year of college
  • Must be pursuing education in the medical field
  • The applicant must be a resident of the area served by the Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls
  • The applicant must be a high school senior or graduate with good character and scholastic standing
  • In addition to the application form, two letters of reference and a high school transcript are required.  Please note, there are special forms for those serving as a reference.
