There’s no experience like the Bezos Scholars Program—a transformative, year-long, no-cost leadership development program that amplifies youth voice, collaboration and action so young people with passion can start making a difference today. Each year, 17 exceptional juniors from the U.S. and Africa, along with educators from each of their schools, are selected as Bezos Scholars.
Student scholars receive leadership training from noted experts along with free college advising and tutoring. At the center of the program are community change projects—fresh, achievable and sustainable approaches to solving urgent problems, conceived and launched by Scholars with our support.
The Bezos Scholarship Program is a program of the Bezos Family Foundation, an independent private foundation that champions the science of learning and its application.

As one of the nation’s largest college financial aid programs in the country, the Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program is one of the major scholarship programs nationally that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders.
The National Scholarship is awarded to eligible students in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. National Scholars receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., during the spring of their senior year to participate in the National Scholars Conference. Recipients must attend the National Scholars Conference to receive the award.

Minnesota Association of Townships Scholarship Program (due June 1, 2024)

ELIGIBILITY
All students currently enrolled in the 11th grade and attending a Minnesota public, private, or parochial high school or a home study program and who plan to further their education at a college, university, or vocational school are eligible for this program. Student cannot be the child, stepchild, grandchild or step-grandchild, brother, stepbrother, sister or stepsister of a MAT director or staff member.
REQUIREMENTS
The Minnesota Association of Townships (MAT) is awarding $2,000 scholarships to up to five juniors currently attending
a Minnesota public, private, or parochial high school, or a home study program, that plan to further their education at a
college, university, or vocational school.
Applicants must complete an application form and submit it along with a written essay using critical thinking discussing
this year’s topic on Promoting Township Government. The question is:
Throughout its history the United States has adopted policies which took advantage of major technological advances
that led to prosperity as a nation. In the 19th century it was the development of canals and a national railroad system. In
the 20th century it was rural electrification and the national highway system. In the 20th century it was rural
electrification and the national highway system. Today, high speed broadband Internet access is as vital as phones,
electricity, and roads. Those without this access, particularly people in rural areas, are left stranded on the wrong side of
the digital divide. Describe ways in which broadband Internet access improves the lives of rural residents.
What challenges exist in providing broadband Internet in rural areas? And what policies should
governments at all levels, (federal, state, and local) adopt to ensure that regardless of geographic
location all Americans have equal access to broad band Internet?
Essays must be between 450 and 500 words, typed and double spaced.

Winners will be notified in writing in September 2024 and will be invited to attend the MAT annual conference in

A scholarship that’s quick and easy to apply for is Sallie Mae’s $2,000 Scholarship. It’s only ten questions, and no essay. Better yet, they give out this scholarship monthly, so you can enter every month this year!
Star Scholarship (TBD)
The P.E.O. Sisterhood is passionate about its mission of promoting educational opportunities for women. P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women; educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and stewardship of Cottey College; and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations. The local P.E.O Chapter AX seeks to facilitate educational opportunities for high school women and establish a more visible local philanthropic profile by encouraging and educating our local high school graduates about the STAR Scholarship currently available to them. With individual awards of $2,500, the STAR Scholarship will enable high school graduates to pursue post-secondary education at accredited institutions.

- Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
- Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; and
- Be a United States citizen

- Each essay will be judged by an independent panel based upon originality, knowledge of subject matter, and supporting statements, as well as correct spelling and punctuation.
- Applicants must be a high school junior to apply.
Along with the completed application and written essay, students must submit:
- A current high school transcript
- A letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or counselor
- All items must be submitted in one envelope postmarked by June 1, 2024, and mailed to:
