Varsity Tutors Scholarship Contest
Varsity Tutors holds a monthly college scholarship contest where students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $200 college scholarship.

State scholarships are awarded to eligible students in all fifty states and the District of Columbia. The program specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders. To be eligible to apply for a Horatio Alger State Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria*:
- Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
- Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
- Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
- Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
- Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; and
- Be a United States citizen

As one of the nation’s largest college financial aid programs in the country, the Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program is one of the major scholarship programs nationally that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders.
The National Scholarship is awarded to eligible students in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. National Scholars receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., during the spring of their senior year to participate in the National Scholars Conference. Recipients must attend the National Scholars Conference to receive the award.

Wendy's High School Heisman Scholarship (due October 19, 2021)

This scholarship is for male and female student athletes who exhibit excellence in the classroom, on the playing field, and within their communities. Deadline is October 19, 2021.
Coca Cola Scholarship (due October 31, 2021)
The 2021 Coca-Cola Scholars Program application is now open. The application deadline is 5 pm est on October 31, 2021.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be:
- Current high school (or home-schooled) students attending a school in the U.S. (or select DoD schools) who will graduate during the 2021-2022 academic school year
- U.S. Citizens (not a Temporary Resident), U.S. Nationals, U.S. Permanent Residents, Refugees, Asylees, Cuban-Haitian Entrants, or Humanitarian Parolees - based on the guidelines utilized by U.S. Department of Education for Federal Financial Aid eligibility
- On track to graduate this academic year (2021-2022)
- Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution
Applicants may not be:
- Children or grandchildren of employees, officers, or owners of Coca-Cola bottling companies, The Coca-Cola Company, Company divisions or subsidiaries.
- International students (with the exception of students at DoD schools)
- High school graduates
- Temporary Residents (Your Permanent Legal Residence is outside the U.S.)

- be in grades 5-12 as of November 10
- be a legal resident of any U.S. state or Washington, D.C.
- have engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred during the 12 months prior to the date of the application
- submit a completed application to a school or the head of an official designated local organization by November 10.
Hagen Scholarship (due December 1, 2021)
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, designed to provide each recipient with the opportunity to Graduate College Debt-Free. Recipients of a Hagan Scholarship will graduate from an Eligible Public High School located in a county having fewer than 50,000 residents or from a remote rural public high school located in a larger county. There is NO Application Fee.

Each year, 17 exceptional juniors from the U.S. and Africa, along with educators from each of their schools, are selected as Bezos Scholars.
Student scholars receive leadership training from noted experts along with free college advising and tutoring. At the center of the program are community change projects—fresh, achievable and sustainable approaches to solving urgent problems, conceived and launched by Scholars with our support.
The Bezos Scholarship Program is a program of the Bezos Family Foundation, an independent private foundation that champions the science of learning and its application.
